Well , I heard about it for quite some time.
Today I have chance to go and have a look .
What can I say is 'Amazing' ! It's something that hard to believe its existence.
Luckiky, the time I went there, noone inside :)
Clear sky, even more clear and still water, beautiful beach.. what more can I say ?

Other places I visited are mainly for snoggling.
Beautiful corals, bunch of fish, sea flower..

Hmm .. time for more fitness ? Yes ..
After that, I'll go having seafood dinner.
Thanks god .. :) for giving me such a happy time.

Busy Week

Back when 'Jaey', one of my friend, was working with me at TSC.
I used to doubt why she seems so busy. Jaey has something to do all the time.
Now, few months after she left to pursue master degree education, I felt like I'm filling her shoes.

I've load of works, never ending, one gone, another one come.
I've meeting almost everyday, with many departments.

Not to mention that I only take parts of Jaey's work.
Man!, what an incredible girl she is !

By the way, I'll go tripping tomorrow.
Work hard, play harder !

The U2 Speaicl Edition iPod
I wanted to have it for more than a year.
Oh well ... by the way , it's not a new generation iPod.
Not a video, not a nano .. it's iPod Photo 20 GB.
You can say it's outdated product and on clearance sale .

Anyway, I dont see any reason I 'll need iPod VDO.
I just need cool iPod that can provide me cool music.
My old Mini can do it well.
However, it doesnt have enough space for my favorite music collection.
I hope this one will.

Ballad of a Thin Man

"Ballad of a Thin Man" is a song written by Bob Dylan, originally released in 1965.
I personally love this song a lot. As described in wikipedia

"A dark and menacing sounding song, "Ballad of a Thin Man" addresses a certain "Mr. Jones", telling him that he simply doesn't know what's "happening." The song's lyrics have Mr. Jones facing a wild, nonsensical, and hallucinatory world and the character is portrayed as a clueless poser who cannot deal with it all."

I started to ask myself why I'm so in love with it. The best answer I can find right now is because I'm not satisfy with myself but I don't know what I wanted to do or how can I get out of it.

This song was covered by Kula Shaker in Kollected: Best of Kula Shaker.
The lyrics is changed a little from original version , some parts are left out.
However, it still preserve the main idea of the song.

วันนี้ไปช่วยงานอีกวันนึง จริงๆก็กะไปเที่ยวด้วยแหละนะ
ได้แวะไปดู Paradox เล่นที่เวที Hell

เสียดายที่เวลาน้อยเกินไป
พี่แกขึ้นมาไม่ทักทาย เล่นอัดเพลงต่อเพลง
พอจบเพลงสุดท้าย ก็หายไปเลย ไม่บอกลาด้วยซ้ำ

จริงๆกะไปดู Silly Fools อีกวง ในตารางเึ้ค้าเล่นวงสุดท้าย
เผอิญเดินสวนกะพวกเึค้าในงาน เลยถามว่า "เล่นกี่โมงพี?"
คำตอบคือ "เล่นไปแล้วน้อง" ่
แม่งเอ๊ย เคือง ... พลาดไปเลย

วันนี้ก็กะไปช๊อปของด้วย ก็ค่อนข้างสมใจเพราะหมดไปหลายอยู่
ที่ถูกใจที่สุดคงเป็นหมวกแพนด้า .. น่ารักจิงๆ

ต้องมาทำงานให้บริษัทที่งาน
แต่ไม่มีคนมาเลย แวะมาเขียน Blog เล่นๆ

ก็คิดไว้ตั้งแต่เมื่อวานแล้วว่าต้องว่างแบบนี้เลยโทรไป DTAC
ขอเปิดใช้บริการ GPRS ไว้

ทีนี้เราก็ต่อ N73 ผ่านสาย data link เข้า laptop
จากนั้นก็ต่อเนทผ่าน Nokia Pc Suite
ใช้ง่ายมากๆ
ส่วนราคาค่าบริการก็ ... วันละ 39 บาท unlimited (24 Hr)
เปิดใช้สักวันก็ไม่แพงนะ ดีกว่ามานั่งเซ็งอยู่เฉยๆ

เมื่อไหร่จะเที่ยงคืนน้า .. จะได้เลิกงาน กลับบ้าน นอน เสียที

จะบอกว่าความฝันอย่างนึงของเรามันเป็นจริงขึ้นมาแล้ว
ความฝันนั้นคือ การที่เราจะสามารถใช้ software/ OS ที่เป็น opensource หรือ freeware ได้โดยไม่ต้อง
พึ่งพา Windows + Commercial Software [+Crack] อีกต่อไป

และแล้ว ก็ถึงเวลาที่จะแนะนำพระเอกของเรา คือ Ubuntu Linux นั่นเอง
Ubuntu เป็น Linux สายนึงที่มีพื้นฐานมาจาก Debian แล้วเน้นความสามารถด้าน Usability เข้ามา
เพื่อให้ user สามารถใช้งานได้ง่าย

การนำเอา Linux มาใช้ นั้นไม่ใช่การเอามาแทน Windows เพียงแค่เป็นการบอกว่า
เรามีทางเลือก .. เราสามารถใช้งาน Computer ได้โดยไม่จำเป็นต้องละเมิดสิขสิทธิ์เสมอไป ถ้าใครต้องการจะเอา Linux มาแทน windows 100% ก็ไม่ต้องลองหรอก เพราะมันเป็นไปไม่ได้

จริงๆการลองเอา Linux มาใช้นี่ ก็เป็นครั้งที่เท่าไหร่แล้วก็จำไม่ได้ แต่ครั้งที่ผ่านมาพบกับความล้มเหลว
ตั้งแต่ RedHat , Gentoo หรือแม้แต่ Ubuntu version ที่ผ่านๆมา

ปัจจัยที่ทำให้ล้มเหลวก็มีหลายประการ เช่น

• OpenOffice ยังไม่ค่อยสมบูรณ์ เปิดไฟล์ Word/Excel/Powerpoint ไม่ค่อยได้
  
• PDF Reader ยังห่วยๆ
• Burn CD/DVD ยังหา software ดีๆไม่ได้
• Mail Client/Browser ยังไม่ดีพอ
• ภาษาไทยยังไม่ได้เรื่องนัก
  
• มากมาย.. ฯลฯ

ข้อเสียที่กล่าวมาเบื้องต้น ได้หายไปหมดสิ้นแล้ว...
OpenOffice ทำได้ดีมากๆ ... M$ ก็ยอม support open document format แล้วนะครับ ใน Office XP,2003 และ 2007
Adobe Acrobat Reader for Linux ก็มี
Nero for Linux ก็มี
Mozilla FireFox / Thunderbird นี่ก็ต้องเรียกว่า state-of-art แล้ว
ภาษาไทยเหรอ .. ได้เท่านี้ก็เรียกว่าใช้งานได้แล้ว มีปัญหาเพียงเล็กน้อย
สำหรับคนที่บ้า Chat ด้วย MSN แล้วกลัว Linux ไม่มี Emoticon ให้เล่นก็ต้องบอกว่า
มันเล่นได้แล้วนะครับ ...
aMSN สามารถมี Display Picture / แสดงเพลงที่ฟัง / Emoticon ได้แล้ว
ถึงแม้ว่าจะยังไม่ได้ดีมากๆ แต่ก็อยู่ในขั้นที่ยอมรับได้ทีเดียว

มาถึงตรงนี้ การนำ Linux มาใช้ ก็จะติดปัญหาอยู่อีกอย่างนึง
คือพวก proprietary software ต่างๆ ที่จำเป็นต้องใช้ทำงาน
ถ้าไม่สามารถหา equivalent software บน Linux ได้ก็จบเห่
นนท์โชคดีที่สามารถหามาได้เกือบหมด

เอ้อ ลืมบอกไปว่า เวบของระบบที่ทำงาน มัน IE ONLY
เหี้ยมากๆ ระบบมัน design มาด้วยคนเก่าคนแก่ มาถึงตอนนี้แก้ไขอะไรไม่ได้
โชคดีที่มี IE4Linux ให้ใช้ ..

มาถึงตรงนี้ ก็ต้องบอกว่า นนท์สามารถใช้ Linux แทน WindowsXP ได้แล้ว
เวลาทำงาน ไม่ต้องเปิด XP เลย

ยกเว้นเวลาเลิกงานแล้วอยากเล่น Warcraft 3 ( ฮา )
จริงๆ มันก็เล่นบน Linux ได้แหละ แต่ขี้เกียจทำ

สรุปคือ การใช้ Linux แทน Windows นั้นเป็นไปได้แล้ว ในระดับนึง
แต่ยังไงก็ยังคงจำกัดอยู่ในหมู่คนที่รู้เรื่อง computer มากหน่อย
อย่างเช่นพวกเราๆ ชาว CP น่ะนะ

ไม่คิดจะเริ่มต้น เป็นแบบอย่างที่ดีกับคนอื่นบ้างหรือครับ ?
