How to get rid of Microsoft Outlook
There're factors that make me unable to use Mozilla Thunderbird as my email client. At first, Thunderbird doesn't have built-in calendar program. However, we still have Lightning extension to compensate for it. The more serious problem is Lightning calendar is unable to sync Calendar with Nokia Phone. Nokia PC Suite will only sync with MS Outlook Calendar.
So, to solve this problem. I have to sync Lightning calendar with Outlook calendar. The ugly thing is they can not be direcrtly synchronized with each other. It needed a lot more effort and tools to accomplish the synchronization. Don't you worry, I've sum it for you .. Howevre, this is not for newbies. You need to be familiar with Google and Extension a bit to understand what needed to be done.
Goal -> We'll transfer calendar from Lightning to Outlook .

- Google account with google calendar enabled
- Open Thunderbird and install Provider for Google Calendar.

- Install Google Calendar Sync.
- Setup Google calendar sync username & password.

การเป็นคนเก่งไม่ใช่เรื่องยากอะไร แต่การเป็นมืออาชีพนั้นยากกว่ากันเยอะ
ในที่ทำงานของทุกคน มองไปรอบๆ ก็คงเจอคนมากมายที่รู้ว่าตัวเองต้องทำอะไร ในหน้าที่ที่ต้องรับผิดชอบ แต่จะมีสักกี่คน ที่สามารถทำได้มากกว่าแค่ทำเสร็จ ยกตัวอย่างง่ายๆ ด้วยความที่เป็นคน IT
1. ก่อนจะเริ่มทำงานสักอย่าง เขียน Specification และส่วนอื่นๆเช่น Programming Flow, Use Case, Error Code, Mock Up บ้างหรือเปล่า มองไปรอบๆ ในองค์กรณ์ที่ไม่บังคับว่าต้องเขียน จากการเดา น่าจะมีประมาณ 1% ของคนทำงานที่จะมีการเขียนเอกสารส่วนนี้
2. ก่อนเริ่มทำงาน ได้ถามคนใช้หรือเปล่า ว่าอยากได้อะไร ไม่ใช่แค่ถามว่า เอาโปรแกรมทำนู่นทำนี่นะ แตุ่ถามว่า โปรแกรมนี้ต้องทำอะไรได้บ้าง มีกี่หน้าจอ แต่ละหน้าจอมีกี่ปุ่ม แต่ละปุ่มเอาไว้ทำอะไร เป็นต้น
3. เขียนโปรแกรมแล้วเขียน Manual หรือเปล่า ว่ามีวิธีการใช้ หรือ วิธีการนำไปใช้ อย่างไรบ้าง
4. เวลามีปัญหาเกิดขึ้น เต็มใจรับผิดชอบทั้งๆที่รู้ว่าไม่ใช่ปัญหาที่ตัวเองทำบ้างไหม ซึ่งปรกติในการทำงาน จะมีปัญหามากมายที่เป็นปัญหาที่ลอยอยู่ คือไม่ได้ตกเป็นความรับผิดชอบของคนใดคนหนึ่งโดยตรง คนส่วนนึง จะคิดว่า ทำไมต้องแก้ ก็เขาไม่ได้ทำ ไม่ใช่ปัญหาของเขา แต่คนทำงานแบบมืออาชีพ ต้องคิดถึงผลของงานก่อน ว่าถ้าไม่แก้จะเกิดความเสียหาย ดังนั้นถึงไม่ใช่ปัญหาของเรา เราก็ต้องแก้ไข
5. เคยสนใจปรับปรุงบุคคลิกกันบ้างไหม เช่น เรื่องมารยาทการพูดจา น้ำเสียง การปฏิบัติตัวต่อหน้าคนหมู่มากและทัศนคติ บางคนพูดจาใช้คำพูดไม่ถูกต้อง น้ำเสียงไม่น่าฟัง ไม่มีครับ ไม่มีค่ะ บางคนกัดเล็บทั้งๆที่อยู่ในห้องประชุม พูดไปก็มี 108 1009 อย่าง จะเป็นมืออาชีพ it does matter นะครับ
6. มีความมั่นใจ ในงานที่ต้องทำ รู้รอบ พอที่จะตอบคำถามได้ ไม่ใช่ประชุมอยู่ เราเป็นคน Present แต่พอคนถามคำถาม ต้องหันไปหาคำตอบจากคนอื่น ไม่ใช่ว่าจะให้รู้ทุกอย่าง แต่ทำการบ้านไปก่อน นั่นคือมืออาชีพ
7. การเขียน Email คือการเขียน ใช้ภาษาเขียน ไม่ใช่ภาษาพูด เขียนเสร็จแล้ว ก่อนส่ง อ่านทบทวนอีกครั้งหนึ่ง การเขียนเสร็จแล้วกดส่งเลย มีโอกาสที่จะมีจุดผิดพลาดใน Email สูงมาก สละเวลาสัก 1 ใน 10 ของที่เขียน อ่านให้จบ แล้วคิดตามว่าเขียนแบบนี้คนอื่นอ่านรู้เรื่องไหม โทนของสิ่งที่เขียนเป็นอย่างไร ใส่อารมณ์เกินไปไหม หรือว่าใช้คำพูดเหมาะสม และชัดเจนพอหรือเปล่า หรือว่า ลืมแนบไฟล์ที่เขียนบอกว่าจะส่งให้ใน Email หรือเปล่า เป็นต้น
จริงๆมีอีกมากมาย คนเขียนก็ยอมรับว่ายังไม่ใช่มืออาชีพ แต่เป็นสิ่งที่มองเห็น และกำลังปรับปรุงตัวเองเพื่อไปถึงก้าวถัดไป .. ถ้ารักจะก้าวหน้า เป็นคนเก่งอย่างเดียวไม่พอหรอกเนอะ

เดือนที่ไม่ีมีอะไร
พึ่งรู้สึกว่าเดือนนี้ไม่ได้ Blog อะไรเท่าไหร่ แสดงว่าชีวิตไม่มีเรื่องน่าสนใจเท่าไร่ หรือไม่ก็ไม่ได้อยู่ในอารมณ์ที่จะเขียน ซึ่งจริงๆมันก็ทั้งสองอย่างนั่นแหละ
อย่างนึงคือรู้สึกว่าทำงานมากไป เวลาว่างน้อย จริงๆจะเรียกว่าน้อยก็คงไม่ถูกนัก แต่เป็นช่วงเวลาที่เอาไปใช้การอะไรไม่ได้ อีกอย่าง.. ทำงานวันเสาร์มาเกือบปี เริ่มจะไม่ไหวแล้วนะเนี่ย..

Mozilla Lightning
Lightning is the calendar add-on for Mozilla Thunderbird. If you don't know what Thunderbird is, I'll tell you that it is the best email client in this planet. You might familiar with Lotus Notes or Microsoft Outlook. They are all suck, in a way.
In large organization, meetings and tasks are handled with "ics" file or calendaring and scheduling information. You'll get some invitations via email. How can you remember them all ? No way ... it's when calendar program is needed. I'm fed up with Outlook 2007 because it hangs quite often so I switch back to my favorite Mozilla Thunderbird.
Thunderbird itself doesn't have the calendar ability. It comes with add-on name "Lightning".
Thanks to opensource community for great product.

YoY
Nothing much happened during the past week. My life was mainly about work and work and work and so on.. There can be gladness and disappointment through a period of time. The thing is, disappointment is not always a bad thing. It makes life more challenge. Even if it makes I feel so small sometime but that is the driven force for me as well. I'll try to get better and do not let those things happen again.
Something I learned, do not judge other people before hand , or even base on how we are. Some people are real shit, but wait until they can't make any excuse then crush blow them. That's my move ... [ OK , go back to the introduction sentense, you know now it's not a good will of mine. I wouldn't say let's wait and thing will turn out to be good. You get my point ? this world is full of shitty people ]
Talked to Kui the other day, I asked her if I'm over expected that other people should be able to do thing at competent level. She said NO, there are a lot of people who just work. Let's say it in Thai เช้าชามเย็นชาม.
This my belief and I think it's a fact.
"Organization that lack of competitiveness will alway get worse"
Think , smart people go into the organization, common people go into the organization, stupid-lazy-ass people also accepted by the organization. ...................... time pass ..................... smart people move on to the better place. common people might move , but some other will stay. Now LAZY-ASS will ALWAYS STAY just because they can't move anywhere else. ------- time pass AGAIN ------- smart people will always come and go, common people are also the same, LAZY-ASS people are now HUGE group in the organization, noone ever move. ****** years pass ****** now the organization will be full of crap, low-quality worker. Even there're smart people as alway , but hey , can you take your enterprise to the next step with this situation? NO , lazy people will not help you, and NOW that they are major. Not to mention most of these people are old-skool , old aged, hard-nose and do not wanna make change to their life anymore. They wanna live like that forever. And if something happen, they will cry out loud "I 've to pay for house,car ! I 've two kids ! I've mother and father ! please ! you can't fire me "
That's suck , I HATE it. I call them "ตะกอน". I think it is suitable work for these people. As a moral person I might be a bad one but I'm talking about business here. So keep your mouth shut. This thing isn't happen in my mind, it's been going through my head, from my eyes. I've seen it in many places I worked with.
I 'm not a perfect person, but trying to be close to. I learn from mistake and how others rate thing as a good one. I mimicked them. I copied the good stuffs.
Let's move on people, we got work to do :) kill them all and let them burn in hell ..

New Job
I'm now on the new quest for the new company. Let's forget those miserable life from the past months. I felt happiness .. for the first time since who know when.
The working atmosphere is great, passionately .
BTW, the new job is much more politic. I mean, there's no easy way to do things because there're always people who do not want us to success in what we're doing. Things aren't going smooth .. and will never be. Thanks god that we still have strong backup in the organization, those who want to take the organization to the next level. So, I believed we're doing fine.

Perfect World
สิ่งหนึ่งที่เป็นเรื่องปรกติของคนทำงานคือการแสวงหาความก้าวหน้าในชีวิต
ด้วยสิ่งที่เจออยู่ตอนนี้ ทำให้คิดอะไรบางอย่างขึ้นมาได้
ทำไมองค์กรณ์บางที่ไม่สามารถพัฒนาไปได้ ทั้งๆที่มีคนมีความสามารถอยู่จำนวนนึง
สิ่งที่คิดได้ในตอนนี้คือ ที่แห่งนี้ไม่สามารถรักษาคนเก่งให้อยู่รวมกันได้ แทนที่บริษัืืทจะมีความก้าวหน้าเพราะมีคนมีความสามารถอยู่ ก็กลับไม่ก้าวหน้า เพราะคนในคนหนึ่ง ก็ต้องยอมไปอยู่ที่อื่น เพื่อแสวงหาความก้าวหน้าที่เค้าควรจะได้รับ
บริษัท ไม่สามารถสร้าง perfect world ขึ้นได้
จริงๆเรื่องแบบนี้มันก็ซับซ้อน ไม่สามารถหาบรรทัดฐานของการตัดสินใจของแต่ละคนได้ เราก็เพียงแต่คิด
ว่าตัวเราจะเป็นแบบไหน ก้าวไปเรื่อยๆ หรือ ว่ายอมรับบทบาทที่ลดลง เพื่อให้ได้ทำงานกับคนเก่งๆ
ยอมรับว่ายังคิดไม่ออก ..
การก้าวไปเรื่อยๆ มีแนวโน้มที่จะได้ทำงานที่อยากทำมากกว่าแบบหลัง เพราะการยอมรับบทบาทที่ลดลง หมายถึงเราต้องทำงานที่ให้ทีมได้ผลประโยชน์สูงสุด มิใช่ทำตามความฝัน ความอยากของตัวเอง

ทางเลือก
ชีวิตของคนทุกคน ก็ต้องเดินผ่านทางแยก ตลอดเวลา เริ่มจากง่ายๆ ก็วันนี้จะกินอะไรเป็นข้าวกลางวันดี แต่ทางเลือกแบบนี้ตัดสินใจง่าย ไม่ต้องพิจารณาให้เปลืองสมอง เพราะกินข้าวเสร็จ เราก็กลับขึ้นมาทำงานที่เดิมต่อ เส้นจบของทางเหล่านี้กลับมารวมกันที่เดิม ... ทางเลือกอีกชนิดนึง เป็นทางที่เลือกแล้ว ชีวิตจะไม่มีวันกลับมาบรรจบกับการเลือกอีกทางหนึ่งได้เลย เช่นการเลือกว่าจะแต่งงานกับใคร เป็นต้น
วัันนี้ชีวิตเราเดินมาถึงจุดที่จะต้องเลือก โดยที่รู้ว่า สิ้นสุดของทางเดินจะไม่มีวันมาบรรจบกันอีก มันช่างเลือกยากเสียเหลือเกิน ผิดหรือถูก เลือกแล้วเราจะมีความสุขหรือเปล่า คำถามเหล่านี้ผุดขึ้นมาเต็มหัวไปหมด

We don't give a shit
เรื่องวุ่นๆก็เกิดขึ้นจนได้ ...
เอาเถอะ คุณเลือกแล้ว เราก็เลือกแล้วเหมือนกัน
คุณทำอะไรมา เราก็ให้ไปด้วยสิ่งเดียวกัน
พวกเราไปอย่างผู้ชนะ

I'm not the only one
เดือนนี้ทำงานหนักมาทั้งเดือนแล้ว นี่ก็วันที่ 20
อีกแค่สิบวันก็จะผ่านด่านแรกไปได้
แต่ยังไงเราก็ไม่ได้เดินอยู่คนเดียว ยังมีเพื่อนอีกคนเดินไปด้วยกันเสมอ :P
คุยกะตองทีไร ก็รู้สึกดี ที่ยังมีคนทำงานหนักกว่าเรา
เราอยู่ดึก ตองอยู่ดึกกว่า ..
ว่าแต่ จ๊ะเอ๊ เราว่าเราเข้าใจเธอแล้ว ว่าเธอทำแบบนั้นตอนเฟส 1 ไปได้ยังไง
เข้าใจว่าการที่เป็นคนที่อยู่ในมุมที่มองเห็นทุกอย่าง เข้าใจงานมากกว่าทุกๆคน
มองเห็นอะไรที่คนอื่นไม่เห็น .. มันมาพร้อมกับความรับผิดชอบที่ยิ่งใหญ่
เอาวะ อีกนิดเดียว .. สู้ๆ

One cruel month
ในที่สุดโปรเจค SMART Purse Phase 2 ก็เข้าสู่โค้งสุดท้ายแล้ว
อีกเดือนเดียว Project ก็จะ Launch แล้ว..
เป็นครั้งแรกในชีวิต ที่ไม่อยากมีวันหยุดสงกรานต์ เวลาทำงานก็จะไม่ทันอยู่แล้ว เจอวันหยุดยาวแบบนี้เข้าไปอีก ..
เดี๋ยวคนนู้นหยุด คนนี้หยุด อะไรๆ ก็จะยิ่งลำบาก
Anyway โบนัสออกแล้ว .. ก็ยังดีพอมีเงินเก็บบ้าง ไม่งั้นไม่มีเลย

ช่วงนี้กำลังตามดูหนังที่ได้ออสการ์ ก็มี
- The Queen ( Best Actress )
- The Last King of Scotland ( Best Actor )
เป็นหนังสองเรื่อง ที่เกี่ยวกะ United Kingdom ทั้งคู่
โดยเฉพาะสำเนียง ดูแล้วก็สนุกดีเหมือนกัน คิดถึงตอนไปเรียนที่นู่น...
ส่วน The Departed นี่คงยังไม่ดู เพราะชอบ Infernal Affair Trilogy มากๆ ไม่อยากเสียตาดู

Something I love
ินนท์มีเพื่อนคนนึง รู้จักกันนานแล้วล่ะ ตั้งแต่สมัยเรียนที่จุฬา
เป็นเด็กอักษร ก็สนิทกันพอสมควร
แต่พอเรียนจบก็ไม่ได้เจอกัน ไม่ได้คุยกันเท่าไหร่
เมื่อปีก่อน บังเิอิญเจอกันที่ซอยคอนแวนซ์ เพราะทำงานแถวๆนั้นเหมือนกัน
ก็เลยแลก MSN กันไว้
พอได้คุย ก็ทำให้ได้รู้อะไรบางอย่าง คนๆนี้เป็นคนที่เราไม่เคยบ่นเรื่องงานให้ฟังเลย
เพราะเธอทำงานหนักกว่าเรามากนัก เข้าขั้น workaholic
ทำงานถึงเที่ยงคืน ถือเป็นเรื่องปรกติ ...
บ้าจริง ..
ปากก็บอกว่าไม่อยากทำ แต่ก็ทำอยู่ทุกที
หลังๆ เราก็ไม่ได้คุยกัน เพราะไม่อยากกวนคนชอบทำงาน
จนมาเมื่อวาน เค้าก็มาถามอะไรแปลกๆ เกี่ยวกับโทรศัพท์มือถือ
เลยจับได้ว่า เปลี่ยนงานใหม่แล้วสินะ
ก็เลยคุยๆ สรุปว่า งานใหม่ พึ่งเริ่มได้อาทิตย์กว่าๆ
เหมือนเดิม
ทำงานยันเที่ยงคืน
คนเรา คงชอบทำงานจริงๆเนอะ ...
นับถือๆ ..

I see it coming :)
From today, it will be a difficult time for me and co-workers. Since we are in the start of SMART Purse 2 testing phase, everything has to be on schedule. I admit I was waiting for this phase. I love working under pressure. It is a challenge thing.
I'm not workaholic, but I'd rather prove "impossible is nothing".
